A new design campaign was created for the 2017 Orange International Street Fair in Orange, CA in order to celebrate and promote its 45th anniversary. Each fall the diversified event features 15 ethnic streets with 42 specialized food and alcohol booths, which vary from numerous different world countries and are all run by non-profits from the local Orange County community. My team created the new design campaign “Heritage Comes Full Circle”, which celebrates the 45th annual event, educates future generations, and celebrates its historic background. This slogan also alludes to the fact that the OISF is in the circle of Orange. We used bright colors to make our signage and wayfinding stand out against the busyness of the fair pulled from old historic Orange signs. Simple line art is used for monuments and icons from each country represented at the fair.
I was responsible for the visitor guide, photo backdrop, and hat mockup design as part of the required collateral. The visitor guide for OISF features a map, schedule of performances, thank you to our sponsors, and the OISF logo that is easy to hold and carry during the fair. Country specific icons are placed along the bottom of each page to connect with the other design materials. The photo backdrop for OISF features the different country icons with our logo placed in the center on a truss structure that is portable and can be moved about easily. For the country icons I created the laurel wreath for Greece, and the El Castillo, Chichen Itza building for Mexico, and the sombrero for Mexico.
